Dwindling Party - Your people have been raided nigh-constantly for centuries. However, you’re people have never known all the secrets of the Jotun, and rumours persist of magical artefacts hidden somewhere in mountain caves. Legacy of the Jotun - Before they passed from this world, they taught your ancestors powerful magics and a handful of miraculous artefacts. They are massive and nigh-impregnable, and possibly the only reason you’re people are still alive. King of the Hill - The Jotun crafted extraordinary fortresses atop their mountain homes. They are few in number, but there is no creature in the world who could match their speed. Holy creatures, resembling horses but with eight legs. I rode through the mountains on a horse with eight legs - Your people have tamed the sacred Sleipnirs.Even a century after reuniting with their southern cousins, Norscan Dwarfs have yet to use the ‘exploding powder’ or the bizarre ‘alcohol engine,’ but they have the best Runesmiths in the world. You have been so loyal and steadfast that they almost regard you as dwarfs yourselves. Even your cultures have mixed and blurred with one another. Dwarf Friend - You have fought and suffered alongside the Norscan Dwarves for millennia.Magic: Unique Jotunheimer Practitioners (Some healers, diviners, and enchanters) Religion: Worship of Ancestor-Gods and the Jotun However, you have allies in the Norscan Dwarves, you have ancient Mountain Strongholds, you have sacred Sleipnir steeds, and, most of all, you have your sacred magic to defend you. There are few of you left, and you have little territory, and you are nearly-surrounded by hostile Chaos-worshipping tribes. Thousands of years have passed, and the Jotun have long since vanished, but your tribe still keep to their ancient ways. They taught some of what they knew to your tribe’s first shamans.
These Jotun were giant beings given a sacred task by the Ancients, and they knew powerful secret arts. Jotunheimers: According to your oldest legends, when the dark gods first came to this land, your people fled from the Ruinous Powers and found refuge with the Jotun. I hope you all find this quest interesting. This setting diverges from canon somewhat (mostly in its depiction of the Norscans), and it also draws some elements from the Norse fanbook from Mathias Eliasson ( ). I started this quest because, frankly, the Norscans in Warhammer seem really cool, but they tend to always be depicted as some Chaos worshipping mooks, so I decided to do a Norscan-centric quest. This is quest is inspired by Gaius Marius’s Warhammer Dynasty, torroar’s many works, and a number of other great CK2 Dynasty quests. You may all vote on which options to take that year, and then I roll dice to determine the results (Hint: you may also write-in actions). Every year of your reign, I will present you with options. Also, if your character gets married, your spouse will possibly bring another faction into alliance with you (Hint: marriage is really useful). If the protagonist dies, you will play as their heir (Hint: you want lots of heirs). The game runs along rules similar to Crusader Kings 2. This is a Warhammer Fantasy CK2 quest that centers on the Norscans.įor those unfamiliar with these types of games, here is a brief summary: If you are very, very lucky, you may even make so great a mark on history, that Norscans will be remembered as something other than the slaves of Chaos (or you will die and everything you cherish will be destroyed). You can expand, defeat your chaos-tainted fellows, and build a new Norscan kingdom, without resorting to the help of twisted demons. Yet all sane people fear one thing even more than the Norscans: their dark and terrible Chaos Gods, whom the Norscans worship with human sacrifices and unholy wars on the forces of order.įor whatever reason, you and your tribe do not worship Chaos (mostly).Ī little over a century has passed since the failed Great Chaos Incursion, and the winds of Chaos are at the lowest ebb in living memory. They have taught the whole world to dread the sight of their longships and the sounds of their war cries.
They have pillaged every coast from far-off Cathay to ancient Lustria in their endless quest for wealth, glory, and bloodshed. The Norscans, a terrifying people that tower over all other humans.
